About River Hill
From the moment you enter River Hill, with its wonderful Hudson
Valley view, you will find yourself in another world, a place of
peace, privacy and delightful surprises. Antique furniture, historic
prints and dozens of books invite you to linger by the fire.
Upstairs, two romantic bedrooms, with antique four-poster
beds offer crisp old fashioned linens, fresh flowers, sunlight and
candlelight. Each room has a private bath. A tiny room with marvelous
river view, can accommodate another member of your party.
Birdsong accompanies your breakfast (or tea, or wine)
on the terrace of the secret garden. In chilly weather, enjoy the sunny
dining room or cozy fire. Heirloom linens, china and silver, fine food,
make breakfast memorable.
Watch birds and the boats from your rocking chair on
the porch. Relax with a book in front of the fire or take a picnic
lunch (reserve ahead) to the nearby nature preserve, which offers hiking,
cross country skiing, fishing and a waterfall with swimming hole.
Your hostess will direct you to the charms of the historic hamlet
and to all of the many historic, cultural and scenic delights of the
area. Nearby restaurants offer excellent meals at reasonable prices.
